Motherhood makes us stronger

Becoming a mother changes everything — your body, your relationships, your work, and your sense of self. It’s a season of profound transformation, and yet most of the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum support women receive stops at the surface.

Hi, I’m Kayla and I created Mommerz to fill that gap. The name comes from a nickname my daughter gave me — playful, silly, and a reminder of the joy woven into even the hardest days of parenting. For me, it represents the shifting identities we carry as mothers. We are not just caretakers, but leaders, creators, visionaries, and women in transformation.

When my daughter was born, I returned to work just three weeks postpartum — not because I was ready, but because I had to. Like so many women, I didn’t have access to substantial maternity leave or the kind of structural support that would allow me to recover and recalibrate. I believed I could do it all — and for a while, I did. But what I didn’t understand then is that the cost of pushing through eventually shows up. The exhaustion, the depletion, the quiet unraveling that happens when support is missing. That experience opened my eyes to the gap that exists for so many mothers — especially working women — and it became the seed for Mommerz. Like so many meaningful ideas, Mommerz was born from something I needed myself, and from a deep knowing that mothers deserve more than mere survival.

My journey into motherhood has been nearly twelve years in the making. Looking back, I know I couldn’t have gotten where I am without the incredible support of my birth doula. Her dedication to education and empowerment shaped my entire experience. My prenatal yoga instructor was equally instrumental, teaching me not only how to care for my body, but how to steady my mind through birth and into postpartum. These women absolutely changed my life, and now it’s my turn to pay it forward.

Alongside my work with prenatal and postpartum women, I bring a diverse background as a coach, business consultant, and leadership and emotional intelligence speaker/workshop facilitator. For years I’ve supported founders and teams in high-pressure environments, helping them navigate growth and transformation. That experience taught me how to hold space, guide people through uncertainty, and foster resilience. These are skills that translate directly into my work with mothers.

With Mommerz, I bring together the best of several worlds: the evidence-based care and emotional support of a doula, the somatic tools of yoga and breathwork, the practical wisdom of health and nutrition, and the mindset and leadership coaching that helps women carry their strength far beyond birth. My approach integrates movement, perinatal nutrition, emotional intelligence, and postpartum planning—providing holistic support that honors both your motherhood and your evolving identity.

And when I’m not working with my clients, you’ll find me enjoying life with my ballerina daughter, practicing vinyasa and kundalini yoga, writing my novel, or taking long walks on the trails here in Northwest Arkansas. I never miss a chance to watch a sunrise, have a lifelong love of dachshunds (waiting for the right time to welcome the next one into my life), and, yes, I know every word of The Princess Bride.

Can’t wait to meet you,

~ Kayla
